The Great Patriotic war of 1941-1945 is the war of the Soviet Union against Nazi Germany. About 7 million people died in the war. Victory Day in Russia is celebrated on the 9th of May. A lot of traditions are related to this day. In early May the veterans are congratulated throughout the country. Celebrations dedicated to the Victory Day are held in all schools. Parades are staged in major cities across the country. The main parade takes place In Red Square in Moscow. There are festive fireworks in celebration of Victory throughout the country at night. Victory day is a great holiday for our country. It must be remembered by each generation and these traditions should be passed on to younger generations.
